Chances are the web browser you are using to 
navigate mywifiext is partly enabled or has any issues. 
Start using new web browser to navigate 
the home page, to see how it functions. 


Verify that you use the login extensor 
address according to the functionality of your computer. 
So mywifiext.net won't work for you 
unless you own Mac iOS. 
Visiting mywifiext.local in situation like 
this will help you fix the issue. 


If you use wireless connection to wire your router and new extender setupthen disconnect it and connect both devices with an 
Ethernet cable, as all devices will interfere with the signal, which would prohibit you from accessing the mywifiext net login page. 


Test if passwords that you used to 
link to Mywifiext net setup is correct or not. 


If firewall or ad-blocking software is disabled and approved on your computer then disable those programs for 
while and try extender login to check whether you can now reach the login page of your extender or not.

How do I set up my NETGEAR WiFi range extender?

 

To customize 
the Extender: 

Put the 
extender in. 


When it doesn't light up the Power LED, 
click the Power or On Off button. 


Link your computer or mobile device 
to WiFi network for the extender. 


The default Name of the WiFi 
network (SSID) extender is NETGEAR EXT. 
The network extender either has no 
password, or password is the norm. 


Your computer may warn you 
not to access the internet. 
This is not 
to be expected. 
Maintain 
WiFi link. 


Start web browser 
and sign in to mywifiext.net. 


The Configuration tab for 


Tap or drag 
NEW SETUP For OUT. 


When you are asked to approve terms and 
conditions, press YES or AGREE, or tap it. 


Use the Admin 
credentials of your extender. 


Such passwords are used on web 
server to control the settings for your extender. 


We recommend that you drop the default User Name as your administrator and 
select password that is different from your password for your WiFi network. 


From drop-down menus pick 
and answer two security questions. 


Such queries are used to retrieve the admin 
credentials of your extender, should you lack them. 


Tap on 
Next, or pick. 


If your extender asks if you want to help, 
press or tap YES or CONTINUE using the NETGEAR Genie. 


Your extender must 
scan nearby WiFi networks. 


Pick the 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi Network 
Names (SSID) Radio keys for your network. 


If you are not seeing your 
network, click or tap See More. 


Tap on 
Next, or pick. 


Type the password of your current 
network, and press or select NEXT. 


Pick SSIDs 
and extender keys. 


The extender continues to use an current network name of 2GEXT attached 
to the end for the 2.4GHz channel and 5GEXT for the 5GHz band. 
By default the password is the same 
as the current network for each unit. 


(Optional) You have the option of using the same WiFi 
name and password for mesh extenders as the current network. 
To activate this function, click the Allow One 
WiFi Name check box if your extender supports it. 


It requires the extender to use the same WiFi 
name (SSID) as the current WiFi network and password. 


Tap on 
Next, or pick. 


Your preferences belong 
in the extender. 
It will take 
couple of minutes. 


The extender shows the name of the WiFi network 
(SSID) and password for each band in your extender. 
Take note 
of this. 


Go to the WiFi settings on computer that you want to link 
to the Netgear extender network, and switch to the current network of the extender. 


Go back to your web browser, pick the checkbox at 
the bottom of the page and press CONTINUE or release. 


Your extender now expands 
coverage to the network.
